Season 9, as it stands.

As all good things come to an end, bad things too. We all deserved a pat on our back for the turbulent season that we are over and done with. Despite many results not coming in our way, we always gave our opponents a run for their money. Time and time again, we fought from a couple of goals down to earn a well-deserved point. Through this testing phase, I am certain that the team has evolved to be one that is not only stronger, but bursting with passion and determination.

Before I appraised all my wonderful teammates below, it might be ideal if we could spend a few minutes to ponder about your vision for the team. Yes, we don't pay you (in fact, you pay us), so we do not expect everyone to be down for every session. Personally, I would catch a wanderlust and find myself in a foreign escapade before I know it, too often than not. I might MIA for abit, but when I am here, I look forward to Saturday matches, even if it is just 30 minutes of working that tummy off.

#Just saying, how can a team improve when the players are almost always not the same? How can players perform if they constantly play out of their favourite positions? How epic if our formation were to change to fit the players that turn up? We don't need a team of superstars, we just need a team of you and me. (Hey, Cmón, by saying all these, I am effectively reducing my 30minutes of play!)

Now, let us review our performance for our past season and applaud:

JEFF for always turning up, and making sure we make a team that was good enough. I know we always criticize him, but he is a man with a big heart. The care-taker of our team, he plays 99% of his time in his not-so-favoured goalkeeper role, and makes sure that everyone has their play time.

ZHULIANG and KAHWOON for being undaunted in defence, and fearless in the air.

JINCHUEN for scoring the important goals and making runs back to defend.

JACK for playing his less-favoured full-back role and even fitting in at the middle when needed.

TIN for his deft long passes and his improvement in defensive positioning.

WEIMING for toughening himself to match the physical demands of the game and upping his game.

KIONG for constantly trying to be a better team player and his impressive footwork.

DEREK for running it out in the middle.

xiao DERRICK for improving so fast he looks like Yiwen 5 years ago.

YITWOON for his lightning speed.

YANGSHAN for being our Silva.

JOE for always coming since he has joined and determination on the pitch.

YONGJIE for his insane and wicked crosses and for always putting the team before him and dropping to full-back roles when needed.

JACKSON for his close control and balance under pressure (and of course his Torres finishing).

BENNY for being the bad boy and playing as the last man.

RENJIE for his jokes on and off the pitch (just kidding)for giving 100% when on the pitch and moving into attacking positions without any compromise in defending.

DWAYNE for running at the defenders and being the fox in the box

HAHA that's all folks. Thanks and I certainly hope to be seeing you on the pitch next season.

AOS!

Team Goat 6 Rock U 6

(JoeX3, Dwayne, Tin, JieHao)

Where do i start? Just where?! Its goal galore but i just can't find a way to write this. But I shall take a shot in the dark to come out with a comprehensive post.

We were down 2-0 just from the start of the whistle and it doesn't look any better for us as they were creating far more chances than us. I would say they have at least 10 before we could create ours? Luckily for us only 2 find the back of the net.

Against the run of play, we found our equaliser with a quick doublefire by Joe and dwayne. Both with great skills and individual efforts brought them the goal. But we were down by 2 goals again before the half ends no thanks to a few mistake by me. =(

I have to say this that we played with at least 4 new players today and it took us some time to bond together and when we need it really came off!

At 2nd half, we change a few strategies and employ our midfield and centrebacks upfield so as to close the gap between the strikers and midfields. I too ask the midfielders to stay close to the opposition in order to not let them have time on the ball, which work brillantly. Than there was also the decision to play a more direct football by swinging more diagonal balls into the box for the forwards.

It started off well for us as Rock didn't expect us to play with such a high line. But they got the goal against the run of play which stretches their lead, for the first time, to 3 goals. However, Joe soon found the net once again with a shot from absolutely no angle. Which bring us to 5-3

Still pushing for a draw, I was soon found picking another ball from the net as they quickly prounced on another counter attack and score an easy goal in a 1 on 1 situation. But it is also this time when the game changed.

Tin was able to capitalise on a mistake by the opposition by picking up a loose ball in the centre of the park. Moving towards the goal, he pick his spot and left the keeper hapless as he catches nothing but the air. Than Joe was able to find an open space at the corner of the box where he used his weaker left foot to slot the ball home.

Than it was down to 5mins where we were chasing and they were defending for their lives. A magical moment by dwayne who swung in a beautiful diagonal ball for jiehao who was left empty. Bouncing off the turf once, the ball was in mid-air and in-between JieHao and the keep. With blistering pace, Jiehao emerge winner in the race and heads the ball over the on-coming keeper to find the equaliser.

We could have won the game with a free-kick at the last minute but sadly the ball was directed towards the keeper. But all in all a very good game for us. Which shows our never give up spirit and fight to the end even though we were down by 3goals!

Motm: Joe Ong (28)

Do i need to say more? Finally our new signed striker found the net! And not once, twice! It's a freaking hat-trick and turn supplier too! A vintage performance by Joe! More goals to come right? Hehe Great game today! Next season definitely looks brighter!

Special thanks to JieHao, James, Eugene and Kenneth for coming down! =) You guys were great addition hope to see you guys on the field again!

4th time the charm?

Opp: Rock U

Time: 3pm

Attire: Red

Venue: Tampines Secondary School

This will be the 4th time we are meeting RockU. Having suffered 3 defeats consecutively under their hand, we are ever so determine to make it right this time. Although we have nothing to play for now we could still mae a different to the title run in.

So lets win it this time for the team as it is highly unlikely that we will be meeting them again next season!
