Setting the Record straight.

Opp: Socceritez

The Perfect venue for the perfect game. Finally we will be given the chance to play at the lush green field of Meridian jc.

Losing to Socceritez 5-1 (or was it 6-1?) at the previous encounter, We have very much change our style of play and definitely i'm more than confident we will be able to match them this time round. Shortage of players during that encounter had haunted me greatly thus this time round i would hope that you guys will be down to show them who is boss alright?

A game of no halves!

Team Goat 1 Ac Fate 1
(JinChuen)

A very challenging game for the Goats today as the Goalkeeper have much to do this time round. The key to today's game was very much in the midfield and the goalkeepers at each end. Challenges were flying and crucial interventions were made by goalkeeper to keep the scoreline respectable and equal to both sides.

Most notably today was kahwoon's run to aid the defences when Fate was counter-attacking. Using his God-like speed, he rushes back and win tackles after tackles which proves to be vital. The custodian for the goat (ME) also made a few good saves to keep the team in the game. A lucky moment where i was in the right place at the right time to get the ball away before it entered the net. Not to mention the post have also came to our aid today's with Fate hitting the woodwork twice in each halves.

Despite all the good chances falling to Fate, we do have chances as well. Kiong, WeiMing, Jackson, Khaled and Yiwen all misses crucial chances to score the goal that really matters. As the saying goes, Never buy the lottery and you will never have a chance of winning it. Therefore if you don't shoot, you will not score. Thus my shout out to you guys here is! PLEASE SHOOT!

So till next weekend!

After the Break.

Opp: AC Fate

Time: 3pm

Attire: Red

Venue: East View Secondary

Following a 2 weeks layoff from footy action, Team Goat will be back this weekend against Ac Fate in a mouth-watering encounter for a push for promotion. With both team looking at promotion , this would be clash that is not to be miss as it would change either team's FATE.

Despite their win coming from the 1st 2 game of the season, not having won any in the last 5, Team Goat's President, Jeff, is still having a cautious approach to the Cash-Rich team (having 2 sponsors).

"With a win against us, they could be propelled into 4th spot and would still having a game in hand against both us Goat and Naranja AFC. "

Elsewhere in the division, Big Belly would be facing Rock U in the top of the table clash. A win would be necessary for the Bellies if they were to challenge for Glory. And at the lush green turf at Orchird Park, Socceritez would be playing against Premier FC. A win for either team would be vital as the season is coming to a close and maximum points is needed to avoid relegation.

So look out for the match report on Saturday for the game at East View.

Till than,

Weekend Round-Up

Despite not playing this weekend, the scoreline from other team prove to be helpful for Goats quest for promotion as both bottom dwellers, Socceritez and Arizen emerge victorious against both Naranja and Ac Fate respectively.

Fyi: Ac Fate has now only completed  7 games and with their 2 games in hand they could easily leap-frog over us.
Naranja 2 Socceritez 3
Arizen 2 Ac Fate 1

With these wins, 3rd spot now is open for grab and with us in pole position. Still with 1 game in hand and a lower GD (can u believe it?) a win over Naranja this upcoming saturday could just lead us there regardless of scores elsewhere. Though the dream was still 2nd place, we would carry on fighting till it is mathematically impossible.

So till this weekend guys!

Stalemate

Team Goat 1 Premier FC 1

(Khaled)

A decent size pitch for a decent game.

Saturday's game was what everyone would call as a 'can forget about it' game. It looks like no strategies was used during the game and 90mins of our lives were gone in a flash. Except for a few brilliant moments when we were able to string passes together, the rest of the time we were fighting hard with Premier to win back our ball. Chances galore for us but once again we find it hard to find the goal that would separate both sides.

However, Khaled's goal was worth mentioning as Jack went up the flank to support Yongjie's in attack. Being surrounded by Premier, Yongjie was able to pick a pass to Jack who was left open in the centre right midfield area before Jack gave a defence splitting pass to Khaled who was able to remain onside. Having nerve's of steel, Khaled cooly placed the ball towards keeper's near post.

However a mistake at the backline during Premier's free-kick led to their equaliser but no one was to be blame for it. But a lesson is to be learnt that we should always expect the unexpected and should never put our guards down!

I would take this game as a 2points lost instead of a 1 point earn as we have had the ball for longer period of time and created far more chances than the latter had.

Motm: Thaddeus
Gathering form from last week's performance Thaddeus remained instrumental in Goat's midfield on Saturday. Fighting and winning balls all around the pitch and giving cross field passes with precise execution. Although he may not have many MOTM moments but we all agreed that he is the UNSUNG HERO for the team. A quiet but important figure for the team! =D

Till next weekend when we meet Naranja!

The Mid table battle!

The Mid-Table Battle

Opp: Premier FC

K.O: 3pm

Attire: Yellow

Venue: Orchid Park Secondary (ARTI)

This weekend's game will see ourselves being pit against Premier in a clash to cement our place in mid table with us having the advantage of 3 points.

Despite the win over them when we first meet, I'm still having my reserves that it was not their form and their best has yet to come. Thus, I would expect another close fight this time round. Good news for us is that both our senior players, Norman and Manfred are back in Singapore for the game but their participation for the game is still remained to be seen. To add to the list, Ariel is also back from a long layoff due to external commitments and the manager will definitely be utilizing him as for the first time as our freestyler, Jinchuen, would be away due to school commitments.

With the season soon coming to an end, I hope you guys can do what we did last season to make a final push and who knows where we will be at the end of the season if results were to go our way! For now our aim is 2nd spot! 7points away and 6 games left to play! We can do it!

Coming:

BoonWee Khaled

Not Coming:

Last but not least let's wish our team goat's very own teacher, YongJie, Happy Teacher's Day! :)
