Finally!

Finally!

Team Goat 4 Premier 3

(Kiong X2, Yongjie, BoonWee)

Finally after 4 consecutive defeats, Team Goat emerge winner at a closely fought game against Premier FC. Individual brilliance from both Kiong and new Signing Yongjie prove vital to keep the game level. And with the sneeky BoonWee at the right time right place, he score the vital WINNER for the team! Though towards the end of the game was scrappy, WE DID IT BOYS!

The game started bad for the team despite dominating the ball ,we were 2 goals down just after 30mins into the game with a dubious offside decision and a miss-communication between the defenders and goalkeeper. Determine to get the team back into track, our very own Pol-ite winner WeeKiong showed his skills and scored a brace for the team before the half to level up the game.

Second half was the same, Goat held most of the ball but it was an unlucky counter attack than broke our defence line. A cross into the box and an easy tap in was given to the opp. 3-2

Our new signing Yongjie prove vital today as he continue to tear down the right wing and soon enough his chance finally arrived. With a brilliant through pass from Weiming in the middle, Yongjie broke free from the back-footed left back and got the ball. Driving into the box, he skip pass another defender and finally unleashing a ferocious strike into the bottom left corner. 3-3 Game on!

With the game being tensed up and each team determine not to commit any mistakes, our midfield mastero, WeiMing picked up a through pass in between the centre backs for boonwee to tap it in from outside of the box. 4-3

The rest was scrappy. What matter was the spirit of the team. Although we were 2-0 down on 1 point we sticked together and have trust in each other! 4-3 isn't a great result but remember, we came back from 2-0! This is the spirit we should have! Never lose hope, the ball is round!

Man of the Match: WeeKiong (9)

Holding the ball, drawing fouls, scoring the goals and pulling the defenders out.Whatever you say he have done it (i would say most likely =X) WeeKiong has been inspirational to the team today. His flair and on the ball prowess was shown today. Not only did he score the 2 important goals to get the team back level he have also been instrumental in the centre of the park and help out his team mates.Definitely we hope his form would carry on in the UPCOMING GAMES! (hidden meaning) Definitely, Player of the season should be in his hands this season if he continue on this season! =)

Special mention to KahWoon as well. Although some of you guys may not have seen it, but kahwoon plays a major part in today's game as well. Unsung Hero. Fighting for every ball in the middle and putting his body on the line! His dedication to the team and game is definitely commendable! Due to this game, he has suffered many injuries and bruises and i would hope that he have a speedy recovery and be ready for next weekend game!

Everyone alike, Soccer is not an individual game, its team effort! Everyone have done well today and deserve a pat on the back! now with almost half of the season gone, lets take it one game at a time and see how we will do at the end. For those who are injured, Rest well and be ready for next week against our fierce rival, Naranja!

Good Job Boys!

After 3 defeats in the league by the promoted teams, we now will be facing Premier FC. Premier has been in the league for some time now and is of certain standard. Their results this standard is close to us which would means a tough fight till the end. A trashing this time should not be on the cards and if there is time to turn the tide around, this game will be it!

Although we will be down on players yet again this week, rest assured i will try to get as many down as possible! And guys if you are reading this, try to be present for matches! The TEAM need every man to be there! Playing with 12-13 man is totally suicidal.

It's Intense

It's Intense

Opp: Team Intense

K.O: 3pm

Attire: Red

Venue: Regent Secondary School

After the 1 week break, we will be back in action against last season divison's 1 runners-up Team Intense. Having suffered 3 defeats in a row, we really need to put our plays and form together for this game if we want to win it. Although it is much said to be a David vs Goliath match for this one but i have no doubt in our team ability to win this game as well.

For us we do not know much about the opp other than they are University combine school team and a player of theirs, Chen Wei who in the past plays with Yiwen, Thad and Manfred in their Tpjc days. That being said, i do think that we have an equal winning chance to win this game if we have the right players to turn up for the game. When Barnsley could defeat Manchester United, i don't see why we cant do it as well.

So lets win this game this coming Saturday!

Third time is definitely not a charm.

Third time is definitely not a charm.

Team Goat 1 Socceritez 5
(Jeff)

With a scoreline like this, there is nothing much to explain. We were both poor at the back, in the middle and upfront. Defences made their mistake and strikers was not able to convert. We were out and out just down on lady luck. Morale could be an issue here but hey today's game wasn't that tough.

Socceritez took their chances well which explains the scoreline. Although the scoreline look one-sided, we have a wholesome of chances as well. At least 5 one-on-one chances were created that we didn't convert. Although i manage to squeeze in one late in 2nd half, it was just nothing but consolation.

I'm not going to talk much about the game as it is really quite disturbing. Both team at least have like 10 shots and above it was end to end stuff. What i'm going to talk about is how to rectify the situation. It comes to a point that 3 losses in a row is not helping the team at all to win anything this season. Worse of all, we could even face relegation!

What i'm saying is that we have a squad of 25 men! But today's attendance was a 14 + 1 (thanks to keane for coming btw!). 10 personnel was absence today. It's no one fault that you did not make it as after all we are a social team and we have priorities in our each and every own's life. But what i'm putting across is, i would hope that you guys make Team Goat one of your priorities as well. You know that Sat is a soccer day for us, without fail, so mark that on your calender! Try not to book things on that timing or plan a date than. We played at 3pm for a reason. We need our man for each and every game! Also I would like to bring up one more point which is, please do take good care of yourself. Far too many people have been ill in this terrible weather. Drink more water and have plenty of rest so that you can play soccer on SATURDAY! =)

So lets keep our heads up and win our next league game which is ARIZEN on 23rd! As for next week is our cup game against Team Intense, preview will be coming up soon for that.

Do note, we are not that bad a team. We have quality and technical players! I have faith in you guys to pull up your socks for the next upcoming game! So do keep your faith in the team as well! Try to come for games!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who have the Ritez?

Opp: Socceritez Revolutionz FC

Time: 3pm

Venue: Queenstown Secondary School

2 teams who have lost both their 2 previous games will be going head to head this weekend at the lush green turf at Queenstown Secondary School. With both of them runners-up in their own previous league they will be looking to bounce back with these game.

Socceritez result hasn't been good with their previous 2 games losing 3-1 and 4-1 respectively by AC Fate and Premier Football club.

Team Goat on the other hand will be playing for their record here. If they lose this game it will mean 3 straight losses in a row which will be new to Goat in their 5 years history. Before the start of the week, the team has already been rocked with the news that they will be without 3 committee member, Laphang, Yiwen and Jackson.

Despite the loss, however they welcome back Thaddeus back to the midfield. And here will be the tentative attendance for this coming weekend,

Another New Signing!!

Just 1 day after capturing Hidayat, Team Goat is please to announce that they have made yet another signing this summer. Fitri, former NFL centre back will be debuting for Goat starting 16th July. This will be an important signing for the team as they look to bolster up the defences.

Fitri was confirmed just few minutes ago by our team's captain at the Changi Fire Station. This is definitely a welcoming news to the team as the defence have not been at its best for the past few games.

Now with Hidayat and Fitri in the team, Team Goat is now looking into the chance of bringing the 19 year old Danial into the team to boaster it wings. Following an awesome game yesterday, it is still remain to be seen if he too will follow Yat's footstep in signing on the dotted line.

15mins of Hell!

Team Goat 2 Big Belly FC 4

(Jackson X1, Omar X1)

A crazy 15mins in the first half had cost Team Goat the game. At the 15th min mark all hell broke lose as our goal was constant under treat. Due to lack of closing down from the midfield or centre back, opp was given 1 too many chances to unleash a shot and one eventually found its way to the bottom right corner. But it was actually my fault, as i could have dealt better with it.

Moving on, another shot from outside the "18 yard box" (more like 14) swerve and hit the left post and went into the net. 3rd goal was due to a mis-comm between me and omar which have led to an easy tap in. (i have learnt from this and i would not elaborate more on what actually happened.) The last happened when their left winger rounded our right back and eventually put in a low cross to the far post. The opp cool-ly placed the ball into the net despite kahwoon putting in a last ditch tackle.
(Yes this all happened in that 15minutes.)

The 2nd half started promising for us as we re-shuffled the team and place 2 dogs (kw and benny) in the middle of the park to make sure no space is given to the opp. With the opp sitting back to secure the lead, the ball was majority on our side. Pushing for a goal, it soon came with jackson finding an open net when danial put in a low cross into the box. Than it was quiet till the last 10minutes when manfred put in a beautiful free-kick towards goal. Although the ball hit the woodwork, omar was there to collect the rebound and put it in. 4-2. However it was seen too late for us to get a draw out of this game. Although a late penalty by yiwen could have made the scoreline better looking. 1st shot was a goal but was disallowed as omar and manfred step into the box too early. The re-take was blasted wide. It would not have made much of a difference either as the penalty was the last kick of the game.

Motm - Manfred
Today's team hasn't been great like last week. But Manfred's performance this weekend has been good. Despite the loss, he constantly chase the ball down and pushing for an equaliser. He also set up a goal today which rounded up his performance. Though he seldom win awards from the team, but he is like an unsung hero who keeps battling hard for the team! Kudos to Manfred!

Despite the loss, however i saw a determine Goat battling hard in the 2nd half. The addition of Yat and Danial to the team have been great to the bunch of players we already have. Now we just need to sync them into the team and we will definitely be better than before.

Also, having lost 2 our 3 games already in the start of the season, it looks like deja vu all over again from last season. Nevertheless the next game will be key to us, to lose another game so soon, it will definitely remove our chances to be a title challenger for this season. So lets work hard in our next game and win it!

Done Deal: Hidayat signs for Goats

Seeing many teams around Eszpen boosting their team with star-studded players. Team Goat's President is please to announce the signing of Hidayat (or just Yat). But the move was seen too late for the game tomorrow. With paper work to be done, Yat would only be able to feature starting next week.

"Signing him is a definitely a plus for the team, he was great with us before and there is no doubt about it that he will be strutting his magic for us again." Goat's President at the press conference.

After leaving Goat, Yat was playing for Re-united at Goal Arena League. Now back to Goat in Espzen many will be thinking if shaiful and danial will follow his footsteps and make a return to the Kambengs!

Other transfer rumours for the team:

- Seen at Changi fire station, Team's Captain was seen talking to a giant about his interest in joining the team. All these could be a rumour but news is that he was previously a NFL centre-back!

- Away with the phone, Team's Manager was caught talking to a old friend of his. News is that he is trying to get KengYang's vice-captain (VJ days) to the team. Certainly a player to look out for!

-Team's no. 10 was found talking to ex-wolves wanderers captain Ronald Cheong about joining the club. Following a 5-mins run out last weekend, it is still remain to be seen if the transfer could be done.

Opp: Big Belly Football Club

Time: 3pm

Field: Grass

Jersey: Red

Venue: Chestnut Drive Secondary School

This weekend we will be playing last season div 4 champions, Big Belly FC. Like me having a big belly, this team should never be estimated as a team who can't run. Despite all nearing veterans age, they are probably one of the best teams around in Espzen. Trashing Arizen FC 7-1 in their 1st game this season, they have already sent out strong statement to all the teams who are going to make up the title race.

Besides having good football ability, they will be having some sort of home ground advantage as we will be playing in a very small field of Chestnut Drive Secondary School. We have not been good against uncle teams, and playing at a small field would not be favourable to us. But nonetheless we would still have to put in our best to match their standard!

Expected Personnel,

omar renjie jinchuen
weiming kenny benny kiong kahwoon boonwee
yiwen manfred
jackson khaled
